Williamson County Republican Career Women’s Club

The club was chartered on January 28, 1992, with Betty Jane Chalfant as the first president, with 23 members.

The club was formed to accommodate the women who had a career of teaching or working during the day and could not attend a day time luncheon.

Marci Hale from Brentwood, Tennessee, was the State President of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women, and Huda Lee Jones, President of the National Federation of Republican Women President.

Many of the chartered members have passed on or are still active in other community events.

The Williamson County Republican Career Women has maintained a strong presence in the county for over 33 years with their annual Red, White and Blue Event and their Holiday Auction with the elected state officials supporting them with their auctioneering skills.

Our primary project is to provide assistance to the Veterans by providing a Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner to them and their families. At Christmas, a Walmart Gift Card is also given to help make their Christmas a little less stressful and brighter.

Another project we support is the Oak Cottage for Women for women coming out of incarceration. We provide the women with tickets for the trolley to get back and forth to work, as well as their other personal needs.

All members of our Club are also automatically members of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women, an organization of Federated clubs across the State of Tennessee.

All members of our Club are also automatically members of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). The President of NFRW is required to live at the headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. The leadership of NFRW has daily contact with the White House and therefore has the most up-to-date information about policies and happenings. NFRW sends out an email newsletter every week to communicate matters of relevance to all members, and many times also includes a survey to obtain members’ opinions on current issues, which can then be fed back to the White House.
